Properties
- Material: Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)
- Hardness: ~80–90 Shore A
- Characteristics:
- Good elasticity and resilience
- Resistant to mineral oils, hydraulic oils, greases
- Moderate wear and extrusion resistance
- Operating temperature: -30°C to +100°C
Application
Used with O-rings to prevent extrusion in:
- Rod seals (low-pressure side support)
- Piston seals (prevents extrusion between piston and bore)
- Static seals (flanges, valves, fittings)
- Industries: hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders, automotive, marine, industrial machinery
Installation
- Clean all parts and remove burrs or sharp edges
- Apply light lubrication
- Stretch over rod or piston if needed; position evenly
- Place on low-pressure side of O-ring (or both sides for bidirectional pressure)
